Well the end of the year has come. I have learned so much and explored so much with knitting this year. I can't believe how much I have learned. Next year I plan to learn even more. I have already gotten the first lesson of Basic, Basic, Basic from TKGA I figure I would rather start with the beginning lesson before I move onto Masters. I hope to have the Masters program started if not finished by the end of the new year.
I'm also planning on learning Continental Knitting. Continental with English works well for doing two handed color work.
Well to all a Happy New Year and many new yarns.

The last of Dr Who and more Zokni Socks

In other news the Zokni Socks are coming along nicely. I'm really enjoying working with the Noro Kureyon Sock yarn. It maybe a touch scratchy but the colors more then make up of that. The wide strips mean that it can still work well in lace. Of course the picture doesn't do the lace or the colors justice. You will just have to go look at the yarn for yourselves. If you live in Seattle that shouldn't be hard because many of the yarn shops that carry a good selection of Noro have the sock yarn in stock.
I'm thinking I'll pick up some more of it and do some socks with cables. Cookie A has several patterns that I think I would love to work in the Noro yarn. Now I just have to run out and pick another color. Oh such a hard job, going to yarn shops and buying more yarn.

Christmas and Noro Socks

I had a great Christmas. Daughter and BF found my Amazon lists and got me these of it. I especially wanted the Reader's Digest Knitter's Handbook because is it suppose to be a good basic book to used while doing the Basic, Basic, Basic that I'm doing for The Knitters Guild. Doing this so that I will be more ready for the Masters program. I feel my basics are a bit spotty.
The other two books are Confessions of a Knitting Heretic and First Book of Modern lace Knitting both of which I look forward to reading a reviewing. They maybe oldies but I still think they are goodies.
Yesterday after we got home I couldn't help myself I had to find a pattern for the Noro Sock Yarn. I finally settled on Zokni Socks by Mintyfresh. I wanted to do lace with the Noro because I felt the large strips would look good in it. I worked on them to night at knitting but still haven't got all that far but here they are in all their glory.

FO Dr Who Scarf
Finally after a year I have finished the Dr Who Scarf and it will go to it's new home on Christmas. I don't think I want to make another one. I need more challenge then that many rows of garter stitch. Yes, it is 10 feet of garter stitch. I will try to get a picture of it on it's new owner. He had better like it. :)
In the year from when I started it, I have learn so much about knitting and what I like and don't like. I really don't like plastic knitting needles even if they are Denise Needles. Also Denise Needles have some of the worse cords I have ever tried to deal with. I'm not crazy about metal needles although I do like the lace Addi. I think Addi Bamboo are really nice to work with. My favorite though have to be Knit Picks Harmony. They have really wonderful cords, which are wonderfully flexible and nice to deal with. They always feel warm to the touch and have nice sharp points.
I have also learned that DK yarn doesn't just come in just pastel colors. In fact I've learned a lot about yarn weight.
I have also become a horrible yarn snob. I no longer like acrylic yarn no matter how "nice" it is suppose to be. I love handpainted yarns. I adore the indi dyers. It is so nice to know that you have something that not all that many others have. I'll have to do a review of some of my favorite yarns another day. I find that if I'm going to make something I would rather find something I really like rather then settle for something that isn't just what I want.
I enjoy knitting more everyday and am so glad I picked it up again.

Noro Kureyon Sock

I stopped by Seattle Yarn to check out the new Noro Kureyon Sock yarn. The colors are beautiful like all Noro yarn. Of course I couldn't pass up it up. I picked up a greenish skein color S164. It isn't as soft as some sock yarns but the colors are truly lovely. I'm going to have to decide what socks I want to make with it. Most likely I check what other people are doing with it on Ravelry.
After I went to Settle Yarn I stopped by West Seattle SNB had a cup of coffee but no want showed up. Decided that weaving ends in with no one to visit with was even worse then doing it at home so after 45 minutes I went home to be with My Lord Husband and watch "Clash of the Choirs", but stupidly didn't get the rest of the ends woven into the Dr Who Scarf.
Dr Who Scarf and Knitting Night
Went to Renton SNB tonight and was so happy to get half of the ends worked in on the Dr Who Scarf. Talked to a couple of the other women at least one of whom has make the Who Scarf and am beginning to think it maybe long enough. Haven't bound it off because I may decide to add a few more rows just because I still have the yarn.
Think that I should go to the West Seattle SNB and see if I can weave the rest of the ends in.
Note to self: Be sure to take the Art Walk Yarn by Zen Stings and the Hand Maiden Casbah for ashwinsmommy to see. Should check and see if there is anything else she might like to she like Cashwool. Well I can decide next week :)

Photos and Such
Well finally I think I have most of my stash photographed and posted to Ravlery. I also I'm getting photos of all my projects done. :) Also got the whole stash sorted out and neatened up.
The Dr Who scarf is out and I need to get it finished in the next week. I'm really not looking forward to weaving all those ends in. I also need to get some photos of it done. You didn't expect me to have all the photos done did you.
I think tomorrow I will try to get to my knitting group. I'm realize it has been too long and I miss everyone. I've work some things out and I'm more then ready to see everyone.
I just remembered I still need to get pictures of all the beautiful Art Yarn photoed and uploaded. Maybe I can get that finished tomorrow.

Malabrigo Yarn Yum
Stopped by the Yarn Stash today I had to check out the Malabrigo Yarn they got in. I picked up some worsted weight in Simply taube which is a kind of cream color. It will become an Irish Hiking Scarf for me. So far I haven't made a scarf just for me.
I may go back and get some more lace weight Malabrigo but I'm not sure. I already have so many lovely lace yarns and even some in Malabrigo already. I guess it will depend on if they still have it when I need it.

Bad days to good
I was having a bad day today until I went to the mail box. Not only did the rest of my Knit Pick Harmony needles show up but the most beautiful Art Walk Sock Yarn by Zen Yarn Garden. It is just beautiful. This one is based on Georgia O'Keeffe's Black Iris. It has blacks, pinks, purples and whites. I'm going to have to come up with a really good sock pattern for it. Nothing like beautiful yarn to brighten up a day.
I really need to dig my camera out and update my stash but I think I said that the other day.

Out and about on Saturday
My Lord Husband and I went for a ride to Kent to check at the yarn tasting at Renaissance Yarns. The tasting was hand dyed and hand painted yarn and this is one of the many types of yarns that I just can't resist. It was nice they had Duet Yarn, Claudia Handpainted Yarn, and some others that I'm not thinking of right now. I would love to pick up a Louet Hand Dyeing Kit when I have some time to try my hand at yarn dyeing.
I was good and just bought a little Tasting Kit which has enough Claudia Handpainted Yarn to make a baby hat.
Other then that I've been working on my Secret of Chrysopolis it is coming out just beautifully I really do enjoy lace knitting. I really need to get working on the Dr. Who Scarf and my Monkey Socks. Also I really must block my Swan Stole and get picture of it.
Hopefully next time I will have pictures to add.
