Great Day

I won yarn. :) Roxanne at Zen Yarn Garden had a contest to guess the number of yarn in the picture on her blog. I guessed 175 which was the right number. So I'm going to get a free month of the Art Walk Yarn . I'm so happy I really love the Art Yarn Roxanne has been dying.

I also finished my Falling Water Lace Scarf. It is truly love the way it has come out. I'll try to get it blocked and photos taken in the next day or so. I really want to get some more HandMaiden Casbah yarn. It is 80% Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon and is just wonderful to touch and the colors are gorgeous.

I think I will now go back to my Noro Kureyon Sock and work on the short row heel. I stopped working on it when my Lord Husband went in the hospital because I really didn't think I could teach myself a new technique when I was so stressed out but now things are settling down and I think I'm ready for it. We will see in the next few days.

Only thing was I had promised myself some green Malabrigo worsted yarn but my closest lys didn't have what I was looking for so I will have to adventure off to a couple other ones up north to see if I can find what I'm looking for. Oh the pain having to go to more yarn stores. lol

God Bless and keep knitting

Wow, Best Laid Plans

My newest project is Falling Water Lace Scarf it is being knit out of some truly yummy Handmaiden Yarn. The color is, I think, Nova Scotia and it is Casbah. Casbah is 80% Merino, 10% Cashmere and 10% Nylon and is truly touchable. The pattern is a simple 16 row repeat and is very easy to read so that errors can easily be found and corrected quickly.

The fact that errors were easy to be corrected is part of the "Best Laid Plans" my dear Lord Husband was in the hospital from the 3rd to the 13th. Thank God, he is doing extremely well now and is home again. He had another small stroke with not much damage. So this was the scarf that kept me busy while we hurried up and waited to see what was going to happen. I only had to tink it back a few times.

Harborview has a knitting group that meets on Tuesdays so I got the chance to sit down and do some knitting with some other ladies. Met a wonderful wonderful lady who's Ravelry name is LZKnitta. She runs the knitting group and teaches knitting at Harborview. She helped to keep me sane as I navigated all that I had to in the hospital and outside. If you have any extra yarn and/or knitting needles they could really use them.

Now that LH is home we are trying to get out some every day and for various reasons that I'm not going into I need to spend some money so we stopped by Little Knits. Fulay is a kind hearted and interesting lady. She knows so much about yarn and loves to share it. She also has some of the best deals around. I picked up Noro Kureyon for a Lady Eleanor Entrelac Stole, some Opal Sock yarns, some more Noro Kureyon Sock Yarn, and some Handmaiden Sea Silk for another lace shawl which I haven't decided what pattern to use. I was also given something but I'll keep that for a surprise until I get it finished. :D Don't you love surprises?

Well to sum it up it has been a rough week and a half but it appears to all be coming out well and I'm looking forward to getting back out with my friends and knitting. Also, I need to get some pictures of the new project and yarn. I will try to do that soon. So until later. God bless and Happy knitting.
