FO Dr Who Scarf

Finally after a year I have finished the Dr Who Scarf and it will go to it's new home on Christmas. I don't think I want to make another one. I need more challenge then that many rows of garter stitch. Yes, it is 10 feet of garter stitch. I will try to get a picture of it on it's new owner. He had better like it. :)

In the year from when I started it, I have learn so much about knitting and what I like and don't like. I really don't like plastic knitting needles even if they are Denise Needles. Also Denise Needles have some of the worse cords I have ever tried to deal with. I'm not crazy about metal needles although I do like the lace Addi. I think Addi Bamboo are really nice to work with. My favorite though have to be Knit Picks Harmony. They have really wonderful cords, which are wonderfully flexible and nice to deal with. They always feel warm to the touch and have nice sharp points.

I have also learned that DK yarn doesn't just come in just pastel colors. In fact I've learned a lot about yarn weight.

I have also become a horrible yarn snob. I no longer like acrylic yarn no matter how "nice" it is suppose to be. I love handpainted yarns. I adore the indi dyers. It is so nice to know that you have something that not all that many others have. I'll have to do a review of some of my favorite yarns another day. I find that if I'm going to make something I would rather find something I really like rather then settle for something that isn't just what I want.

I enjoy knitting more everyday and am so glad I picked it up again.

Congratulations on finishing the Dr. Who scarf. I have always wanted to make one of those but have been afraid to start it because I'm sure it would linger forever.

I agree about cheap acrylic. I still have tons of it in my stash but am slowly winnowing my way through it. I will never buy that stuff again now that I know what the good stuff is. Of course my wallet will never be the same again either.
